Estonia openly supporting Nazis

Nazism is condemned worldwide, but there are still pockets of support in some areas of Europe. Over the weekend, Estonian veterans of the Nazi SS rallied on the anniversary of a battle with the Red Army. The Estonian town of Sinimae was the scene of a fierce World War II battle between Soviet soldiers and SS forces in 1944. And less than a mile up the road from the monument that commemorates the Soviet soldiers who died there, a gathering of veterans of the Estonian Waffen SS is taking place – an event that has attracted widespread criticism for glorifying Nazism. Estonia keeps anti-fascists away from SS veterans’ meeting

A convention of Estonian SS Division veterans has found its guardian angel in the form of the Estonian authorities, who are protecting it from any unpleasant meddling by the international anti-fascist movement. Finnish human rights activist and chairman of Finland’s Anti-fascist Committee, Johan Backman, has been prevented by police from entering Estonia to participate in an anti-nazi rally. He says it’s symptomatic of Tallin’s tolerance of Nazism. Terrorist attack in Norway – the result of connivance of European neo-Nazis

On July 22 a right-wing extremist committed horrific double terrorist attack in Oslo and the Norwegian island of Utoya, which left no one indifferent.The terrorist killed at least 76 innocent people, most of them were young. The offender committed this evil act guided by ideological motives, namely his Nazi views. Moreover, during the interrogation he admitted his actions “appalling, but necessary” in protest against multiculturalism and the liberal policies of cultural integration of Norway.  Читать далее

European Left condemns political short-sightedness of the EU institutions on the increase of far-right wing extremism

The Party of the European Left condemns unprecedented public statements of the Romanian president Basescu made on 22nd of June 2011. In his TV interview Romanian president justified and glorified the actions of the war criminal and Hitler’s ally, Ion Antonescu, declaring that if he was in his place 70 years ago, in 1941, he would have proceeded in the same manner. Petition rips Lithuania for feting ‘41 government

SYDNEY, Australia (JTA) — A petition blasted the Lithuanian government’s celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Lithuanian Provisional Government, which began “the barbaric campaign of humiliation, harm, plunder and murder” of Jews in 1941. The 24 signatories to the petition, which was sent to Lithuanian parliamentarians, feature a group of eminent Jews from Europe, Israel, North America and Australia. They include professors, rabbis, journalists, authors, lawyers, representatives of Holocaust museums, Holocaust survivors and a British parliamentarian.  Читать далее

Andrus Ansip rejects charge he isn’t prosecuting Nazis
